Citi ® Financial Institutions organized the seminar, which had more than 35 participants from 12 banks, including First Bank, Zenith Bank, GTBank, and Diamond Bank.

The annual seminar demonstrates Citi Nigeria’s commitment to using its global resources and expertise to improve the knowledge base of Nigeria’s banking professionals. The course is designed to provide both intermediate analysis of international cash & trade policies and processes and an insight into current global developments and emerging trends. The forum also provides an excellent opportunity for interactive discussions between key operators in the local market.

“Our aim is to share with participants some of the more important developments in the area of international trade and payments and to give them a better grounding in the fundamentals governing these aspects of international banking,” according to David Oji, Citi Nigeria’s Financial Institution’s Head. “These seminars are targeted in particular at those bankers who are directly responsible for processing cash & trade transactions and/or marketing related products.”

Facilitators for the seminar were Mr. Graham Sylvester-Evans, a renowned trade consultant and trainer with more than 40 years working experience in International trade, and Mr. Nigel Bruce, Citi’s Correspondent Banking Manager for Nigeria and a few other African countries. Mr. Emeka Emuwa, Managing Director of Citi Nigeria opened the seminar, and the acting Central Bank Director of Trade & Exchange, Alhaji Musa, was a guest speaker at one of the interactive sessions.
