AOL Donates Mobile Computer Lab to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital®

New York, NY - April 7, 2009 – AOL today announced the donation of a custom-designed mobile computer lab to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital®. The AOL Connections Lab includes 20 mobile laptop carts that fit conveniently over hospital beds and wheelchairs, and provides an easy and convenient way for patients and their families to stay connected while at St. Jude. Customized with a full suite of AOL products including AOL Mail and AIM, the laptops can be wheeled throughout the hospital to suit patient and family needs.

“AOL is proud to support the work of St. Jude, one of the world’s premier pediatric cancer research centers,” said David Cole, Senior Vice President, Technology Support Services. “Our company put America online, and through the AOL Connections Lab, we’re now able to help children and parents get online and stay in touch with friends and loved ones while they are at the hospital.”

AOL recently announced the success of its involvement in the 2008 Thanks and Giving® campaign, an annual national awareness and fundraising initiative for St. Jude that runs throughout the holiday season. AOL contributed a total of $1.5 million to St. Jude in donations from AOL users, AOL employees, company matching grants, as well as in-kind promotions and ads on the AOL network.
