Leaders in Video and Online Telecom Technologies Break Down Barriers To Help Girls Continue Education from Home

Las Vegas - Telesphere® (www.telesphere.com), a nationwide business phone and Internet services provider, and Polycom, Inc. (NASDAQ: PLCM), the global leader in telepresence, video and voice communications solutions, worked closely with the national hit ABC show “Extreme Makeover Home Edition” to make sure the Cerda family’s dream home had only the newest telecommunications technology available.

Telesphere was instrumental in securing a state-of-the-art Polycom video conferencing unit, and installed the HDX7000 Video Conferencing Unit in the classroom built especially for Molly and Maggie - the Cerda family’s two little girls. The girls are homeschooled due to an immune deficiency disorder and this high-tech equipment allows them the opportunity to transform their classroom into any place in the world.

Telesphere’s General Manager, Michael Simmons and Senior Sales Engineer, Sean Remedios also coordinated getting Internet and wireless services to the two “RVs” onsite for Wright Engineering, the company in charge of the build. This allowed the company to be able to stay connected and focus on the important task at hand.

“We’re extremely pleased to have been given the opportunity to help out on such an important project,” said Simmons. “We know the technology will bless the lives of the Cerda family and are grateful to have been a part of this whole experience.”

“Polycom connects classrooms across the globe, and created the opportunity to learn via video conferencing no matter where a student is located,” said Russ Colbert, Polycom’s global education market director. “We are excited to be a part of this amazing project. Through Polycom’s video conferencing solution, the Cerda girls will truly be able to see the world in their own global classroom.”

Telesphere’s Las Vegas-based employees also volunteered more than 100 hours of time at the build site, and donated approximately $8,000 of material to help the build run smoothly and efficiently.

Telesphere, a company who has always been interested in outreaching to the community, also participated in the March 12th Brave Heart Ceremony where the crowd follows Ty Pennington through the streets for the kickoff of the event.
