Award-Winning Palm Vein Authentication Technology Adds Robust Biometric Identification to Passlogix’s Solutions to Enhance Security and Facilitate Compliance

Sunnyvale, CA.— Fujitsu Computer Products of America, Inc., a leading supplier of innovative computer products including hard disk drives, peripherals and biometric security solutions, today announced the integration of its PalmSecure LOGONDIRECTOR with Passlogix, Inc.’s market-leading v-GO® Access Accelerator Suite for enterprise single sign-on and related authentication and provisioning enablement. The Fujitsu PalmSecure LOGONDIRECTOR combines the Fujitsu PalmSecure biometric authentication technology embedded in a PC mouse with software that seamlessly integrates with third-party single sign-on (SSO) solutions. This integration of PalmSecure’s highly accurate biometric identification capabilities with Passlogix’s SSO solutions provides organizations a comprehensive, cost-effective identity management infrastructure that helps eliminate password security challenges, protect proprietary systems and information, and comply with HIPAA, SOX, PCI DSS and regulations.

The Fujitsu PalmSecure sensor uses a near-infrared light to capture a person’s palm vein pattern, generating a unique biometric template that is matched against pre-registered users’ palm vein patterns. With PalmSecure LOGONDIRECTOR, users are no longer required to remember passwords, eliminating the threats posed by misplaced passwords, as well as the considerable cost of creating and re-assigning new log-in credentials. PalmSecure LOGONDIRECTOR is also equipped with Session Manager functionality, ideal for healthcare and other IT environments in which multiple users need to access a single computer by requiring users to authenticate themselves separately. Individual activity is tracked, promoting security and compliance best practices by limiting users’ access to only those applications and files for which they are pre-approved. In addition, when an employee leaves a company, the IT department has simply one credential to delete, substantially reducing de-provisioning time and costs, which is especially concerning in a down economy.
