Tokio Marine & Nichido Fire Insurance Selects Embarcadero Technologies’ InterBase® as Application Database for Its Consulting System

Embarcadero Technologies’ compact relational database is installed on 16,000 machines across the company’s Super Insurance Consulting System


TOKYO – April 2, 2009 – Embarcadero Technologies, Inc., a database tools and developer software company, announced today that Tokio Marine & Nichido Fire Insurance Co., Ltd. (TMNF) has selected InterBase, Embarcadero’s relational database management system, for TMNF’s Super Insurance Consulting System. InterBase has been distributed to a total of 16,000 computers connected to the consulting system, which went live in January 2009.

Embarcadero’s InterBase, which has earned a high reputation as a compact database system that requires no administrator intervention, is an embedded database for enterprise and packaged applications. Easy and quick installation and configuration, small footprint, automatic crash recovery and self-tuning enable customers to use high-performing and sophisticated database functions with near-zero maintenance.

Tokio Marine & Nichido Systems Co., Ltd., which developed the Super Insurance Consulting System, is using InterBase to manage its contracts and customer data. It selected InterBase database for its stability, backward compatibility and ease of maintenance.
