WEBWIRE

Toronto, ON – MERA Systems Inc., a leading developer of VoIP software solutions, announced today that it has successfully completed interoperability validation between MERA VoIP transit softswitches and AudioCodes MediaPack and Mediant series.

The first interoperability testing between AudioCodes VoIP gateways and MERA softswitches was conducted in the year 2005. Since that time AudioCodes is keeping interoperability with MERA Systems in new versions and software releases.

Being enhanced with one of the best stability and routing flexibility currently available on the market, MERA Systems product line of VoIP transit softswitches enable VoIP carriers and service providers to efficiently handle considerable amounts of IP telephony transit traffic across their networks. Real-time LCR and profitability control, prepaid and postpaid billing, codec conversion, throughput of up to 1000 calls per second and elaborate quality-based routing are the key benefits of MERA Systems products.

AudioCodes’ Mediant Media Gateways provide solutions for service providers and enterprises who are seeking for future-safe, reliable and high quality media gateway platforms that can interconnect with most of the market’s leading softswitches, application servers, IP-PBXs and other standards-based VoIP elements.

The AudioCodes’ MediaPack Series of Analog VoIP Gateways are cost-effective, best-of-breed technology products that provide superior voice technology for connecting legacy telephones, fax machines and PBX systems with IP-based telephony networks, as well as for integration with new IP-based PBX systems. These products are designed and tested to be fully interoperable with leading softswitches, SIP servers and H.323 gatekeepers. AudioCodes interoperability with MERA Systems softswitches was done for AudioCodes MediaPack series and AudioCodes Mediant series using the SIP control protocol. The testing was set out to ensure interoperability between MERA VoIP Softswitches and AudioCodes Media Gateways concerning registration, call handling, DTMF transmission, T.38 real time fax and other functions.

“Full interoperability between AudioCodes gateways and MERA softswitches gives carriers an opportunity to use AudioCodes best-of-breed VoIP gateways in residential, enterprise and SIP trunking environments,” says Alex Levin, Vice President of Sales, Russia, CIS & Israel. “It means that service providers and transit carriers will have more choices when it comes to deploying services based on AudioCodes’ gateways.”

“AudioCodes and MERA Systems have a long history of a successful partnership,” says Konstantin Nikashov, CEO of MERA Systems. “Together MERA Systems and AudioCodes enable differentiated VoIP applications and interconnect VoIP services for multi-vendor businesses. Now when the compatibility is proved, MERA Systems partners and customers can fully rely on compliance-tested media gateways from AudioCodes to efficiently build VoIP networks.”
