WEBWIRE

Berlin, This year, DB Schenker will again be one of the major exhibitors at the 12th transport logistic 2009 in Munich from 12 to 15 May 2009. The Transportation and Logistics Division of the DB Group will present the service and product portfolio offered by the DB Schenker Logistics and DB Schenker Rail Business Units. With 14 competence centers and five info centers, the DB Schenker stand in Hall B6 (Stand No. 209/310) will offer a wealth of information for visitors. Throughout the fair, visitors will have the opportunity to discuss their concerns with experts from different industries, different regions of Europe and beyond, and from the various product sectors.

“The fair has already proved itself to be an excellent platform for holding intensive discussions with our customers, during which we can present the wide range of logistics products we offer and convince visitors of the quality of our services on land, in air and ocean freight, on rail and in contract logistics. We shall make the most of this fair as an opportunity to demonstrate our thorough and above all our comprehensive expertise,” commented Dr. Norbert Bensel, Head of DB Schenker and Member of the DB Mobility Logistics AG Management Board responsible for the Transportation and Logistics Division.

On each of the four days of the fair, the DB Schenker stand will focus on a different subject: the opening day, “Green Logistics Day”, will concentrate on environmental issues. Hartmut Mehdorn, Chairman of the Management Board and CEO of Deutsche Bahn AG, and Dr. Norbert Bensel will jointly present the climate and energy strategies of the DB Group and DB Schenker. In the evening, DB Schenker will present the DB Schenker Award to up-and-coming young scientists at a ceremony in the Trend and Innovation Forum.

The next day will be devoted to the subject of rail freight transportation. The members of the Management Board and other experts will take part in discussion panels and give presentations to show the latest developments and challenges facing the DB Schenker Rail Business Unit, whose network meanwhile extends from Scandinavia to Spain and from the United Kingdom to Poland. “Logistics Day“ – the third day of the fair – will deal primarily with the question of management of the largest and most close-meshed land transportation network in Europe, the worldwide air and ocean freight services, as well as sectoral solutions for contract logistics and supply chain management. DB Schenker’s special regional and national expertise is reflected in best-practice examples from central, western and south-eastern Europe. On the fourth and last day of the fair, DB Schenker will present examples of international sectoral solutions.
