Design of Swedish Innovations and SAMSUNG Digital Enhanced Technology Witness Swedish Innovations and SAMSUNG Technology Concurrently

- The exhibit, organized by the Swedish government, has been on a world tour since 2003 and it is the first time to take place in Asia.

Seoul Korea, February 7th, 2006 - Swedish designs usually stress functionality and practicality, while Samsung Electronics has cutting edge digital technologies. The best of both can be seen during the Korean run of “Improving Life: Design of Swedish Innovations and Samsung Digital Enhanced Technology” at the Hangaram Design Museum, part of the Seoul Arts Center, February 7-25.

The Swedish Society of Crafts and Design, the Swedish Institute, and the Swedish government have jointly organized the “Improving Life: Design of Swedish Innovations” exhibit at various cities around the world since 2003. The first showing in Asia is being carried out in cooperation with Samsung.

Samsung is exhibiting an 82” LCD TV along with a product array that includes notebook PCs, mobile TVs and mobile phones. The company’s cutting-edge digital technologies are manifest in its terrestrial digital mobile broadcast (DMB) receivers, satellite DMB phones, and ultra-slim slide-open phones.

Samsung Electronics Sr. Vice President Kwangtae Kim of Corporate Communications Team gave a congratulatory address at the opening of the exhibit. He said, “This exhibit is a cooperative effort by companies of our two countries in the world market. This is a meaningful encounter in which we can all advance.”The exhibition is divided into three sections. One features 56 innovative products that improve the quality of life from leading Swedish companies such as Volvo and Electrolux. Another is devoted to the Samsung Electronics products while the third is for innovative designs by Swedish companies that are currently doing business in Korea.
