Springer India launches Dentistry in India

Springer India Pvt. Ltd., in collaboration with FMC, announces the inaugural issue of the Indian edition of Dentistry, the UK Business Magazine of the Year 2008. Dentistry, the UK’s highest circulation dental journal, was first published in 1995 and focuses on the latest news and information in the field of dentistry. The bi-monthly Indian edition of the publication will include articles about the most current trends in dentistry in India as well worldwide.

The announcement was made during the Indian Prosthodontic Society‘s 11th National Post Graduate Student Convention, hosted by the Maulana Azad Institute of Dental Sciences, New Delhi on 27 February 2009. Mr. Rakesh Baheri, President Secretary Health Minister of Delhi inaugurated Dentistry in presence of Ms. Shiela Dixit, Honorable Chief Ministry of Delhi, Ms. Kiran Walia, Health Minister of Delhi, Dr. T. V. Padmanabhan President of the Indian Prosthodontic Society, Dr. V. Rangarajan, Secretary of the Indian Prosthodontic Society, Dr Ravindra C Savadi, the Editor of the Journal of Indian Prosthodontic Society, Dr.Anil Kohli, President IDA, Professor A. K. Aggarwal, Dean of the Maulana Azad Institute of Dental Sciences and Dr. William F Curtis, Executive Vice President Clinical Medicine, Springer.

Dr. Mahesh Verma, Director Principal of the Maulana Azad Institute of Dental Sciences (MAIDS), has been appointed editor-in-chief of the Indian edition. Dr. Verma has been serving the field of dentistry for more than a decade as President of the Indian Academy of Restorative Dentistry (IARD) and as the Vice President of the Indian Dental Association. Furthermore, he is Director of the American Academy of Implant Dentistry (AAID).

Dr. Verma said, “I am pleased and excited to be appointed editor-in-chief of this journal. Dentistry will offer the Indian dentistry community the latest information from India and from abroad in order to support progress in this field.”

In addition to information on general dentistry, the journal will include key sections on implantology and prosthodontics, endodontics and conservative dentistry, cosmetic dentistry and periodontics.
