TestAmerica Receives AIHA Certification for Specialty Radioactive Testing

TestAmerica’s laboratory in Richland, Washington received certification from the American Industrial Hygiene Association (AIHA) for asbestos and metals testing in radioactive contaminated materials.

AIHA certified laboratories capable of accepting potentially radioactive material are rare. As one of the very few laboratories with this capability, TestAmerica eliminates this unique challenge by offering AIHA certified Asbestos PCM, detecting airborne concentrations, by NIOSH 7400 and Metals (Be, Cd, Cr, Pb) by NIOSH 7300 within its radiochemical licensed laboratories. These analyses are performed on bulk, filter and wipe samples.

This latest offering adds to an extensive series of sophisticated methods designed to meet measurement specifications in radioactive samples with higher sensitivity. TestAmerica offers 40 years of experience in full-service radiobioassay and radiochemical testing and is a major service provider for the Department of Energy (DOE). The Richland facility is among the first in the US to be approved and is part of a team that represents the nation’s largest resource for radiological and mixed waste testing.
