EMSL Scientist Honored with the Prestigious Harriotte A. Hurley Award

American Industrial Hygiene Association (AIHA) recognizes Dr. Jason Dobranic’s achievements.

Last week the Analytical Accreditation Board (AAB) of AIHA’s Laboratory Quality Assurance Programs (LQAP) hosted an awards dinner in San Diego. EMSL Analytical is proud to announce that Dr. Jason Dobranic was awarded the esteemed Harriotte A. Hurley Award for LQAP AAB Member of the Year for 2008.

The AAB through LQAP works to establish high standards for laboratories and analysts. The outcome of these standards is high quality data for use in evaluating exposures that impact the environment, natural resources and public health. To be recognized by the AAB with this honor is a source of great pride for Dr. Dobranic and EMSL Analytical.

Dr. Dobranic has spent much of career as the National Director of Microbiology for EMSL Analytical, Inc. Dr. Dobranic began his enthusiasm for understanding mycology at the University of New Brunswick in Canada. He later received his Ph.D. in mycology from Texas Tech University.

As the National Director of Microbiology for EMSL Analytical Dr. Dobranic has been busy running the laboratory’s microbiology department. He has also been a PDC Instructor, presenter at over 50 industry events, written frequent articles for trade journals and acted as an expert witness in numerous litigation cases.

EMSL Analytical, as one of the nation’s largest environmental testing laboratories, have put Dr. Dobranic’s years of experience along with 10 other Ph.D. microbiologists to work in their cutting edge microbiology department. “We are very proud to have Dr. Dobranic as one of our influential group of scientists,” reported Robert De Malo, Senior Vice President, Laboratory Services at EMSL Analytical, Inc. “The recognition of his achievements through the Harriotte A.
