Company to Discuss Progress on Macromedia Integration, Vision for New Engagement Platform.

New York — Jan. 31, 2006 — Adobe Systems Incorporated (Nasdaq:ADBE) is holding its annual financial analyst meeting today in New York City. Senior executives will discuss Adobe’s progress integrating the former Macromedia business, review the company’s intra-quarter update for the first quarter of fiscal 2006, and outline strategies for continued growth leveraging the new Adobe® Engagement Platform. With the ubiquitous Adobe PDF and Flash technologies at its core, the Adobe Engagement Platform will enable the development and delivery of compelling digital experiences through a variety of media and help drive the next generation of rich Internet applications.

“Our future opportunities are enormous,” said Bruce Chizen, Adobe chief executive officer. “We’ve succeeded in creating one of the world’s largest, most innovative and diversified software companies. Going forward, we’ll build on our heritage of redefining the way people communicate by delivering an Engagement Platform that revolutionizes how the world engages with ideas and information.”

Adobe’s Engagement Platform will have access to more desktops and digital devices than any other technology vendor through the combined reach of its Adobe Reader® and Macromedia Flash® Player clients. To date, more than 500 million copies of Adobe Reader have been distributed worldwide on 10 major operating systems and 26 languages. Adobe’s Macromedia Flash Player, the world’s most pervasive software client, reaches nearly 98 percent of Internet-enabled desktops worldwide, as well as a wide range of devices. The company will also highlight that since the release of Flash Player 8.0, adoption has occurred 56 percent faster than either Flash Player 6.0 or 7.0 achieved in the first quarters of release. In addition, shipments of mobile devices running Flash have more than doubled from 25 million to 65 million units within the last 12 months.

Engagement Platform Links Business Units, Drives Growth

During the meeting, senior executives will outline ways Adobe is helping people engage with digital information more powerfully than ever before. Demonstrations will highlight a variety of applications where Adobe solutions create richer experiences and drive more efficient results across a wide range of customer segments.

“The Adobe Engagement Platform is at the heart of our strategy to meet our customers’ diverse needs and challenges, whether they are enterprises and knowledge workers, creatives and designers, or mobile device manufacturers and operators,” said Shantanu Narayen, Adobe’s president and chief operating officer. “Adobe is in a unique position to deliver a powerful platform that leverages our newly expanded products and technologies, as well as our ubiquitous reach.”
