Top College Cheerleading & Dance Teams Earn National College Championship Titles

MEMPHIS, Tenn., More than 3,000 of the country’s top college cheerleaders and dancers descended on the Walt Disney World Resort in Orlando to compete in the 2009 College Cheer and Dance Team National Championship.

Teams from 43 states and 152 universities and colleges competed in the event, produced by the Universal Cheerleaders Association. An estimated 6,000 spectators attended the competition, with performances at the Wide World of Sports Complex and the Indiana Jones Theater at Disney’s Hollywood Studios.

University of Kentucky, this year’s Division 1-A winner, captured the title last year as well.
