Increased Private Medical Insurance (PMI) sales for Health-on-Line fuelled by household budget cutbacks

Health-on-Line, the online Private Medical Insurance (PMI) provider comments on the increase in sales it has seen in the first few weeks of 2009. With an increase of 25% in sales over the same period last year, Health-on-Line puts this growth down to a combination of the time of year and the current economic conditions.

Mike Dalby, Director of Health-on-Line, comments “We’re currently experiencing a significant increase in the level of PMI enquiries and sales at Health-on-Line and we believe the time of year and the impact of the credit crunch are playing a role. January tends to be a time of year when many people are reviewing their financial arrangements, rationalising and determining what they need and how much they can spend over the coming year. This year, we believe this has been exacerbated by the economic climate we’re experiencing”.

“With the economy as it is at the moment, not only are individuals looking to review their budget but they obviously want to make savings. With the pre-Christmas euphoria out of the way, people are now looking to adjust their family outgoings to better suit their budget. They are looking at alternative suppliers and providers of goods and services and it’s only natural that if Private Medical Insurance is a part of their household expenditure that this should be subject to similar scrutiny. As Health-on-Line is able to save customers an average of 36%* a month on their health insurance, we believe that this is a significant driver for our increase in volumes”.
