Your power is not the “aircraft throttle” this time, but your “political power”. Perhaps you could just “throttle the politicians”, but seriously, getting desired results is up to you. You are intelligent enough to obtain a pilot’s certificate or perhaps successful enough to own an aircraft or maybe a company flight department or a business which depends on airports or aviation. Then you should be smart enough to find and support those in political office who support airports and the aviation industry, and will work hard to protect it without offering empty promises.
