Chevron President Honored by the Prestigious Rajiv Gandhi Institute of Petroleum Technology

Jeet Bindra, president of Chevron Global Manufacturing, was recently appointed Distinguished Honorary Professor at the Rajiv Gandhi Institute of Petroleum Technology (RGIPT), at Jais, Dist. Rae Bareli. RGIPT was established in 2007 by India’s Ministry of Petroleum & Natural Gas to produce high quality professionals and provide practical solutions to a variety of energy-related challenges. An Act of Parliament of India has recognized RGIPT as an Institute of National Importance.

“I am pleased to accept the Distinguished Honorary Professorship at the Rajiv Gandhi Institute of Petroleum Technology,” said Bindra. “I look forward to working with the Institute to provide exemplary education, training and research programs and hope to assist in making the RGIPT a world recognized institution.”

RGIPT currently offers programs in Petroleum Reservoir and Production Engineering and Petroleum Refining Engineering in Rae Bareli, India and an MBA program in Petroleum and Energy Management in NOIDA, India.

A graduate of the Indian Institute of Technology, who later received a Master of Science, Chemical Engineering as well as a Master of Business Administration, Jeet Bindra has been a highly respected Chevron employee since 1977. Bindra was appointed President of Chevron Global Manufacturing in 2004 and leads the company’s worldwide manufacturing operations. Bindra oversees approximately 10,000 employees and 20 refineries worldwide that together produce over 2.2 million barrels of crude per day.
