The next generation in IAQ monitoring technologies will be showcased at the world’s largest dedicated indoor air quality conference.

The BlackBoxx, a revolutionary new piece of air monitoring technology, is about to change how commercial and residential buildings are monitored. The instrument, designed by professional engineers at KD Engineering, is being showcased at the Indoor Air Quality Association’s (IAQA) 12th Annual Meeting and Expo which is being held in conjunction with the 41st Annual Meeting of the Air Conditioning Contractors of America (ACCA). The conference is taking place in Ft. Worth, Texas from February 24th to the 26th.

With public awareness of indoor air quality on the rise, monitoring air quality conditions in buildings has taken on increased importance in recent years. Fortunately new innovations in sensor and data logging technologies now allow building professionals to economically monitor the IAQ of buildings like never before. These technologies allow for proactive monitoring, fast and reliable investigations of complaints or concerns, and even create historical IAQ documentation.

The KD Engineering BlackBoxx is a two function instrument meant to work in conjunction with the popular shAirBoxx IAQ monitors. Up to 16 individual shAirBoxxes throughout a building can now be connected simultaneously with one BlackBoxx. The BlackBoxx then uses zigbee technology to collect data and store up to 225,000 data points.

The BlackBoxx also has the ability to upload data directly to the internet. Upload options include a data-hosting website or the BlackBoxx can be configured to communicate with a corporate website or intranet. The website can even be configured to send email alerts based on specific parameters and also transmit an alert if one or more monitors go offline.

Attendees of the IAQA/ACCA Expo can see first hand the incredible power of the BlackBoxx and other KD monitors including the shAirBoxx, Home AirBoxx and Airboxx by visiting KD Engineering’s booth #529 or www.teamkd.com.
