Las Vegas NV - Booth 21744 - Adding to its selection of of no-cables-required high definition extension solutions, Gefen brings the GefenTV Wireless for HDMI 60Ghz Extender to CES this year.
This no-cables-required solution allows home entertainment system installers to place high definition displays in hard to reach locations, such as on the ceiling, outdoors, and over the fireplace, to name a few.

The sender/receiver system relies on leading edge WirelessHD technology from SiBEAM to deliver HDMI at 1080p full HD, sending uncompressed video from a source to the display wirelessly. This eliminates messy wiring, and offers a cutting-edge and reliable method of high bandwidth HDMI signal delivery.

The GefenTV Wireless for HDMI 60Ghz Extender is able to extend high definition video with audio in the HDMI format up to 10 meters (approximately 30-feet), using 60Ghz WirelessHD technology. The sender unit is connected to the hi-def source using the HDMI format, including gaming consoles, Blu-ray DVDs and set-top boxes. The receiver unit is connected to the display. 1080p full HD uncompressed video is delivered from the source to the display with no cables required. Audio in digital S/PDIF format is also available to connect an AV receiver in addition to the HDTV display. The
wireless link between the source and the display supports 1080p full HD with multi-channel audio, and is proving to be just as reliable as wired solutions.

SiBEAM will be showcasing the 60Ghz WirelessHD technology at CES in the WirelessHD Interoperability Suite, located at the LVCC, North Hall, 2nd floor, Room N243. Gefen will be showing demos of the GefenTV Wireless for HDMI 60Ghz Extender in booth 21744 throughout CES.
