WEBWIRE

Deutsche Börse: As at 18 December 2008, there had been a total of 185 primary listings (2007: 208 primary listings) and 28 transfers of companies in all segments at Deutsche Börse. This is a decrease of admissions in the primary market in 2008 compared with the prior year.

The number of new market entries in Prime Standard amounted to twelve (2007: 33 companies). Two companies, SMA Solar Technology and GK Software, placed their shares as part of an Initial Public Offering (IPO), while ten companies were promoted to the Prime Standard from other segments. 16 new market entries were admitted to the Entry Standard (2007: 43 companies), including Ropal Europe which had been an IPO. Five companies had been promoted from the Open Market.

Since its launch three years ago, the Entry Standard has gained a strong position as an SME segment. Currently, 118 companies are listed in Entry Standard. Ten percent of these companies are based outside Germany. This year two Chinese companies opted for a listing in Entry Standard, Shigo Asia and Classic Dream Properties Ltd.

The First Quotation Board in the Open Market recorded an increase in listed companies year on year. Despite the difficult market conditions, the number of new market entries increased to 176 new market entries (2007: 150 companies). Deutsche Börse restructured the Open Market in October 2008. All initial listings in theprimary market segment are now grouped in the First Quotation Board. This new sub-segment accommodates the rising number of initial listings in the Open Market.
