Thomson Financial Crowned Best Software Provider At The Global Pensions Awards 2006

For Second Consecutive Year

London, 01/24/2006, Thomson Financial, an operating unit of The Thomson Corporation (NYSE: TOC, TSX: TOC), and leading provider of information and technology solutions to the global financial community, was this week declared Software Provider of the Year, at the Global Pensions Awards for the second consecutive year.

More than 1,000 pension funds were surveyed and asked to nominate a service provider from each of the 20 categories. Submissions from the shortlisted companies were then passed on to a panel of independent judges. The winners were announced at a ceremony at The Gibson Hall in London on Monday 23rd January 2006.

The judges were particularly complimentary, with one saying: “I voted for Thomson because they consistently deliver the best technology. Their customer care is also of an extremely high standard, and this is reflected by their in depth knowledge of how the asset management market place operates.”
