Wipro’s SIP-Based Conferencing Slashes Fraud, Speeds Recruitment Process

The technology adopted to solve recruitment related challenges is a Unified Communications solution from Nortel* [NYSE/TSX: NT ].

Wipro was chosen as one of the business problem winners based on the size of the project, amount of investment and involvement of other business processes. The evaluation also considered the value of the project to the company such as return on investment, business efficiency and its influence on the company’s income-earning potential.

Nortel IP Phone 1535 , a high-resolution IP video phone and the Nortel Multimedia Communications Server (MCS 5100) has provided Wipro with a unified communications solution that seamlessly integrates IP telephony to solve connectivity issues during candidate interviews, helping it keep up with recruitment of over 20,000 new employees every year. Moreover, when using video phones, the interaction is more personal with no chances of impersonation. Using the solution, Wipro has substantially reduced the turn around time in the interview process as well as the number of fake resumes Wipro receives.
