Silicon Image Appoints Peter Rado to Lead Worldwide Operations and Quality

SUNNYVALE, Calif., January 20, 2006 — Silicon Image, Inc. (Nasdaq: SIMG), a leader in the secure distribution, presentation and storage of high-definition content, today announced it has appointed Peter Rado, 57, to vice president of worldwide operations and quality. Rado, promoted from vice president of engineering of Storage Systems at Silicon Image, was responsible for the development, quality assurance, and program management of Silicon Image’s storage technology and products. Reporting to Steve Tirado, Silicon Image president and chief executive officer, Rado will be responsible for supply chain management, procurement, manufacturing, distribution, and quality.

Rado brings over 35 years of industry leadership experience to this new role. Prior to joining Silicon Image, he served in a variety of capacities at Sun Microsystems in over 17 years with the company. Most recently, he was the vice president of engineering for the Volume System Products at Sun, where he was responsible for the research and development of workstations and low cost servers. Previously, he served in leading roles in Sun’s Workstation Business Unit, World Wide Operations and Boston Development Center. Throughout Rado’s tenure at Sun, he developed a proven track record for the strategic planning of Sun’s worldwide capacity, capability and investments in future manufacturing technology. Prior to Sun, Rado served in management and engineering roles at Apollo Computer Inc. and Digital Equipment Corp.
