Internet Triple-Play Discount for Small and Medium-Sized Businesses; WebOffice Makes Sharing Files, Calendars and Meetings a Virtual Snap

NEW YORK - Verizon small and medium-sized businesses can now get WebOffice, a collaborative Web-based tool allowing businesses to work online with employees and customers anytime, anywhere there’s an Internet connection. WebOffice is available as a stand-alone product, or it can be added to Verizon Flex Business for Internet (VFBI) at a discounted price.

Verizon introduced VFBI in August to its business customers nationwide. The broadband productivity package offers a discount to businesses that have either a High Speed Internet or FiOS Internet connection bundled with Verizon Wireless BroadbandAccess wireless service.

“WebOffice is a great tool that removes the barriers of space and time and allows businesses to meet, access databases and manage files without any additional hardware or software,” said Monte Beck, vice president for business marketing at Verizon. “It complements Verizon’s Flex Business for Internet and helps keep businesses connected in the office and on the road 24 x 7.”

WebOffice is a powerful but easy-to-use Web-based service that allows users to collaboratively work with peers, clients and vendors in a secure virtual intranet environment - meeting online to integrate their work, develop ideas, set goals, and manage projects and business operations - all in real time. Because it is a hosted service, WebOffice does not require any hardware investment by the customer; there is no software to buy or install, and no need for in-house IT to support the service. All that is required to use WebOffice is a computer (PC or Mac), an Internet connection and a Web browser.

WebOffice eliminates workspace borders by offering anytime access wherever the user needs to work - in the office using Verizon’s digital subscriber line-based High Speed Internet or its FiOS Internet service; at home; and on the road using Verizon Wireless BroadbandAccess, virtually anywhere in the world. Users can coordinate schedules and calendars, share documents (with secure access control), build and utilize databases, host Web meetings, manage expense reports, make announcements and more, from their desktop or notebook computer. And WebOffice’s interactive Web conferencing capability can eliminate the need for costly business travel.

According to Matt Davis, research analyst for IDC, “The combination of WebOffice and Verizon’s fixed and mobile broadband services offers significant operational advantages and measurable cost-saving benefits to small business. In challenging economic times like these, services that enable a business to boost productivity and operating efficiency with minimum capital investment and maintenance expense are highly desirable.”

Pricing for WebOffice begins at $56.99 per month for up to five users and $94.99 per month for six to10 users. The discounted price when WebOffice is bundled with VFBI is $50.99 per month for up to five users and $84.99 per month for six to 10 users.

WebOffice and VFBI are available to Verizon wireline business customers located in select areas of the following states: California, Connecticut, Delaware, Florida, Idaho, Illinois, Indiana, Maryland, Massachusetts, Michigan, Nevada, New Jersey, New York, North Carolina, Ohio, Oregon, Pennsylvania, Rhode Island, South Carolina, Texas, Virginia, Washington, West Virginia and Wisconsin. The bundle is also available in the District of Columbia.
