Buttons Day Nursery Schools Reach Nursery Awards Finals 2008

Buttons Day Nursery Schools have been announced as finalists in the nursery school industries most prestigious awards, Nursery Management Today (NMT) awards. Buttons Day Nursery Schools have been successful in three categories in reaching the finals.

Nursery Lifetime Achievement Award Finalist

Childminder of 20 years, Rosemarie Eldridge, is a 2008 finalist for the NMT ‘Nursery Lifetime Achievement Award’. Rose has worked at Buttons Day Nursery Schools since 2005. Until recently she had no formal nursery qualifications, however, in December 2007 Rose embarked on an NVQ3 course in Childcare and Education which she completed in record time qualifying in July 2008. Childcare has always been a passion for Rose, at 58 years young she is a mother of 8, she has 12 grandchildren and is currently the under 2’s Childcare Team Leader at the Hampton branch of the day nursery school.

Nursery Nurse Award Finalist

Nursery nurse NMT award finalist, Hannah Brown, embraced the opportunity to be a nursery nurse team leader when it was offered to her and has grown in the role earning respect from all the nursery school staff. Hannah is enthusiastic, a doer and loved by nursery children, their parents and work colleagues alike. As a nursery nurse team leader she has successfully implemented a number of new ideas for the benefit of the children. Currently she is the over 2’s Team Leader at the Hampton branch of the day nursery school.

Nursery Operations Manager Award Finalist

The role of nursery operations manager is a key to the success of a nursery school. Satnam Parhar is the Nursery Operations Manager for both Buttons Nurseries and was nominated by the nursery staff. He has been instrumental in introducing initiatives in how the nursery schools are run as well as staff incentives which all contribute to a successful nursery school environment. His commitment is highlighted by the fact that Buttons Day Nursery is recognised as an ‘Investor In People’ organisation. Being part of a small nursery school group means Satnam’s role is very diverse but Satnam is always willing and takes it all in his stride.

The winners will be announced at the Nursery Awards 2008 Gala Night on 28th November.
