Validated Integration Highlights Enterprise Readiness of Citrix XenServer and Underscores Choice in Server Virtualization for Oracle Customers

BOSTON - Citrix Systems, Inc. (NASDAQ:CTXS), the global leader in application delivery infrastructure, today announced that its Citrix XenServer™ product family has achieved integration validation through Oracle’s Application Integration Architecture for Partners initiative. Citrix XenServer enables organizations to standardize on a single virtual machine platform that supports multiple operating systems, as well as both packaged and custom applications across the enterprise.

Validation through the Oracle initiative applies rigorous testing of installation, data integrity and security. Integration validation tests for use of Oracle standards and best practices with Oracle’s PeopleSoft Enterprise, Siebel Customer Relationship Management, and Oracle® E-Business Suite applications.

“By validating the integration between XenServer and Oracle’s enterprise software applications, our customers can have confidence that integrations between Oracle Applications and XenServer have been tested and work together as designed to help further realize the benefits of easy-to-use dynamic virtualization solutions,” said Tom Herrmann, vice president of ISV Alliances and Programs at Oracle.

Through Oracle’s Application Integration Architecture for Partners initiative, partners such as Citrix with validated integrations are able to provide customers with standards-based product integrations, tested and validated by Oracle. Validation includes a range of technical and process-oriented testing:

* Integrated Functionality: Citrix XenServer has passed pre-defined test cases and scenarios, demonstrating that it works with Oracle applications while maintaining the functionality available from either product operating separately.
* Integrity and Security: Citrix XenServer has been tested with Oracle applications for integrity and security of data and applications.
* Documentation: All documentation of how the solutions work together is published, which includes installation guide, user guide, and the technical integration document.

The Citrix XenServer product family enables businesses to deploy high-performance Windows and Linux virtual machines rapidly and to reduce the number of underutilized servers in an IT infrastructure. Running Oracle E-Business Suite, PeopleSoft Enterprise, and Seibel CRM in a virtualized environment, Citrix XenServer can deliver the following benefits:

* Fewer underutilized servers in the IT infrastructure;
* High-performance virtualization within an easy-to-use virtualization platform;
* Easy-to-use Windows and Linux virtualization solutions with built-in virtual machine lifecycle management, at breakthrough price and performance;
* Dramatically reduced server hardware and operating costs through savings on power, space, cooling, and system maintenance;
* Native 64-bit hypervisor, providing scalability and support.

All of these benefits add to the powerful server virtualization capabilities that Citrix XenServer offers. XenServer can radically reduce datacenter costs by transforming static datacenters into more dynamic, easy to manage “delivery centers,” where application workloads are delivered rapidly, simply and cost-effectively. Based on the open source Xen® hypervisor, XenServer delivers a secure and mature server virtualization platform with near bare-metal performance. In addition, XenServer delivers industry best TCO through faster application deployment, improved server utilization, aggressive pricing, simple management and accelerated application delivery. XenServer is easy to use, simple to set up and offers more intelligent storage capabilities through the most complete native integration with leading system and storage vendors.

“XenServer offers the most powerful, open, easy way to build dynamic datacenters,” said Lou Shipley, group vice president and general manager, XenServer product group at Citrix Systems. “Now Oracle customers can take advantage of their existing investments while also leveraging XenServer as the center of their virtualization strategies.”

Validation through Oracle PartnerNetwork Application Integration Architecture for Partners gives customers confidence that integrations between Oracle Applications and complementary partner solutions have been tested and work together as designed. This can help reduce risk, improve system implementation cycles, and provide for smoother upgrades and simpler maintenance. Validation through this initiative applies a rigorous technical process to review the integrations of third-party software to Oracle Applications products, including productized repeatable integrations from system integrators. Oracle provides tools, resources and training to assist partners in the integration. Partners who have successfully validated their integrations are authorized to use the “Integrated with Oracle” logo.
