Rolls-Royce wins $400M orders in China from BOC Aviation and Sichuan Airlines

Rolls-Royce today announced orders worth more than $400 million from customers in China. BOC Aviation, the leading Asia-based aircraft leasing company, has selected market-leading Trent 700 engines worth $180 million for five Airbus A330 freighters. Rolls-Royce also has a $230 million share of an order for V2500 engines from Sichuan Airlines.

The Trent 700 is market leader on the A330 with a 53 per cent market share. It delivers outstanding levels of performance and the highest available thrust on the A330, resulting in increased operational flexibility. Latest technologies fed into the engine as a performance improvement package have delivered better fuel burn, which translates into lower emissions.

BOC Aviation‘s fleet includes 14 Trent-powered widebodies plus 43 V2500-powered Airbus A320 family aircraft. The V2500 is produced by the International Aero Engines consortium of which Rolls-Royce is a major shareholder.

Sichaun Airlines has selected V2500 engines to power up to 18 Airbus A320 airliners. The order includes a V2500Select® service contract, which covers the new aircraft and the 15 A320s already in service with the airline.
