New Presentation Skills Training Workshop

For the first time ever, two professional speakers and improv comedy experts are conducting a one week long boot-camp speaker school in Henderson, Nevada. From October 30th through November 6th, a small number of attendees will use techniques from improvisational comedy to learn effective presentation skills. Details about the speaking school can be found here:

“There is too much ‘bad’ stuff being taught to speakers,” says Avish Parashar, one of the two instructors. “People are having there heads’ filled with techniques that make them look fake and wooden.” The second instructor, Fred Gleeck, agrees. “The key to having great public speaking skills is to be natural and authentic. The best way we have found to develop that skill is through improv comedy.” Both Gleeck and Parashar credit their speaking success to their years of experience in improv comedy.

Rather than teaching artificial style techniques about how speaker should move their hands or adjust their vocabulary, the Speaking School will focus on helping speakers develop a natural style that works for them. Attendees of the Speaking School will be immersed in a hands-on environment where they will practice speaking, developing talks, and playing improv comedy games to loosen them up, develop their authenticity, develop their stage presence, and help them be funnier and better speakers.

“The best part about the school,” says Parashar, “is that since the exercises are bbased in improv comedy, not only will attendees be improving their skills, but they will also be having a ton of fun.”
