AND releases street level data for Switzerland
Rotterdam - AND Automotive Navigation Data, leading provider of worldwide digital mapping used for navigation and location-based services (LBS) around the world, today announced the availability of its full coverage navigable map of Switzerland. With this release AND completes the important DACH area and takes the next step to expand its road coverage for Western Europe in order to provide the only alternative in the market for digital maps.
The Swiss map includes rich comprehensive navigation features and is in line with the high quality specifications defined by AND and its customers. The digital map offers full coverage, is fully navigable, enables turn-by-turn route guidance and door-to-door route calculations to all 7.6 million inhabitants of Switzerland.
Next to the world base map with more than 200 countries, AND now offers 10 countries on street level. AND has completed Austria, Germany and Switzerland (the DACH countries), Belgium, Netherlands and Luxembourg (the Benelux countries) and Bulgaria, Croatia, Slovenia and Turkey.
Europe on street level
"We believe the AND maps to be a very attractive alternative to the coverage of Navteq and Tele Atlas. With the release of street level maps for Switzerland we have taken another significant step in pursuing our ambition to complete full coverage of Western Europe. We now offer more than 125 million people in Western Europe navigation right to their door" according to Maarten Oldenhof, CEO of AND Automotive Navigation Data.
