New Color imageRUNNER Models Deliver Superior Image Quality, Multifunction Ability and Easy-to-Use Features In a Sleek Compact Design

LAKE SUCCESS, N.Y. – Strengthening its color lineup to support the growing color output needs of small office, workgroup and general office environments, Canon U.S.A., Inc., a leading provider of digital office imaging systems and solutions, today unveiled the new sleek, compact, easy to use and feature-rich Color imageRUNNER C1022 Series.

The new Color imageRUNNER Series, which is built upon the Canon imageCHIP (Concurrent Hyper Intelligent Platform) Lite system architecture, combines the capabilities of single function printers, stand-alone Fax devices, scanners and copiers into one user-friendly, high image quality multifunction device without occupying a large area or overwhelming a company’s budget. The Color imageRUNNER C1022 Series deliver exceptional letter-sized output speeds of up to 22 pages-per-minute (ppm) in monochrome and color, and accurate color scanning at up to 20 impressions-per-minute (ipm) for single- or double-sided letter-sized originals.

To help better support today’s mobile workforce, the new Color imageRUNNER C1022 Series comes with advanced scanning and printing capabilities to output documents whenever they are needed without connecting to a laptop or a computer. Using the Scan to Store feature on the control panel, users can convert scanned data to various files formats, including TIFF, JPEG or PDF formats, and store the document in a USB memory media device. Through the Direct Print feature, users can print out images from a range of memory media, including Compact Flash, SD cards and USB Memory Media Devices, which can plug directly into the Color imageRUNNER control panel. Also, with this feature, users can create an index print of all images saved on a memory device for easy reference (up to 20 JPEG index prints per letter-sized page).

To help better manage device usage and status, while seamlessly integrating these new models into an organization’s existing fleet of imageRUNNER models, the Color imageRUNNER C1022 Series includes Canon’s Remote UI (User Interface), and supports Canon’s imageWARE Remote and imageWARE Enterprise Management Console (EMC) applications. The imageWARE Remote allows Canon authorized service dealers to remotely read meters and monitor for device error and service notifications, as well as consumables usage on Canon imageRUNNER models. Canon’s imageWARE EMC provides advanced automated task management features, such as retrieving/distributing device settings, rebooting devices, new devices discovery, automating meter reads and sending e-mail alerts.

The new Color imageRUNNER C1022 Series, with its small 21 1/2-inch footprint, is available in two versions - an “i” model and “base” model. The i model is bundled with standard features for out-of-the-box business productivity, including PCL5c/6 support, and advanced sending capabilities, while the base model is highly configurable, with a number of sending and printing options.

Generally unheard of in similar devices, the versatile Color imageRUNNER C1022 Series incorporates an easy-to-read color 3.5-inch TFT LCD control panel to increase and ease usability. Along with an innovative tactile scroll wheel, useful customized keys allow for easy navigation, entry and customization. For example, users can register customized keys for frequently used functions and reuse output configurations, or set one touch keys for address book entries or network destinations, and quick access to various menu screens. The panel can also be adjusted for an optimum viewing angle, regardless of placement in the office.

Canon constantly strives to increasingly preserve the environment with each new product made, including the new Color imageRUNNER C1022 Series. Both models are ENERGY STAR® qualified and use a minimal 1W of electricity in Sleep mode, reducing the overall power consumption of your office. Also, Canon’s color document distribution technology helps with the cost efficient use of consumables through the new models’ numerous printing and delivery options. Canon is proudly the first in the industry to create a toner cartridge recycling program, which includes the all-in-one cartridges of the Color imageRUNNER C1022 Series. The newest generations of all imageRUNNER devices are RoHS-compliant, restricting the use of specific hazardous materials that are harmful to people and the planet.

The Color imageRUNNER C1022 Series will be available immediately through Canon authorized dealers and Canon Business Solutions at manufacturer’s suggested price of $3,995 for the imageRUNNER C1022i and $3,495 for the imageRUNNER C1022.
