Key Performance Indicators Can Transform the Way Transportation Companies Run Their Businesses, Monitor Their Assets and Identify Areas for Operational Improvement.

HANNOVER, Germany . - Qualcomm Enterprise Services Europe BV, a wholly owned subsidiary of Qualcomm Incorporated (Nasdaq: QCOM) and a leading provider of business-to-business wireless enterprise applications and services, today introduced Key Performance Indicator (KPI) functionalities in its FleetVisor™ Web Portal. The FleetVisor Web Portal allows users to access the FleetVisor mobile communications platform, which combines Qualcomm’s EutelTRACS®, OmniExpress™, OmniOne™ fleet management solutions and enables users to manage their entire fleet of vehicles through a single user interface and database.

The new set of KPIs can provide unmatched benefits to planners, dispatchers, operational and financial managers, and drivers of transportation companies by presenting extensive and complex sets of data in a simple, graphical and easy-to-use manner. This innovative service gives fleet owners and managers real-time visibility to their most important metrics related to fuel, vehicle and driver costs, as well as operational productivity and efficiency. This information can help transportation companies identify areas for improvement such as avoidable cost, efficiency gains and missed revenues.

“We are excited to bring this enhanced FleetVisor capability to European transportation companies,” stated Bill Karnazes, managing director, Qualcomm Enterprise Services Europe. “This new, visually appealing user interface presents fully customizable sets of graphs and tables that present the right information to the right people at the right time.”

In collaboration with European transportation companies already using Qualcomm’s fleet management solutions, Qualcomm has defined several KPIs that help transportation companies monitor the key metrics of their fleets and enable them to identify opportunities for operational improvements, including:

Fuel Consumption KPI: Provides valuable information for managing fuel expenditures by reporting the amount of fuel consumed by a vehicle over a specified time period. In addition, it creates a benchmark against a pre-defined or user-defined performance level. This KPI also monitors excessive vehicle speed, which impacts the overall performance and fuel consumption of trucks.

Driving Efficiency KPI: Provides relevant information to help companies evaluate the efficiency of their drivers by presenting graphical analyses based on the amount of time spent on productive tasks as opposed to non-productive tasks. This information can be useful in determining and managing salary rate scales.

Driver Scorecard KPI: Provides synthesized information to identify high-performance drivers and those who are underperforming and may require additional training or management coaching. This KPI delivers a weighted performance scorecard of drivers based on several user-defined operational factors.

Next Maintenance KPI: Provides timely and accurate information to better manage maintenance scheduling, parts inventory and resources planning. This KPI enables companies to proactively manage fleet maintenance by identifying assets that are due for service based on a user specified value.

Kilometers/Time Driven KPI: Provides necessary information for assessing and managing costs on a country-by-country basis. This information can help insure the accurate calculation of salaries and expenses and identify areas for operational improvement, marketing opportunities or service gaps.
