WebTech Wireless and ARI Secure Paid Pilot Projects for Over 650 Vehicles with Major Canadian Service and Utility Companies

WEBWIRE

VANCOUVER, BRITISH COLUMBIA – WebTech Wireless Inc. (TSX:WEW), a leading provider of location-based and fleet telematics services, together with its partner Automotive Resources International (ARI), one of the largest fleet management companies in North America, have been awarded a number of paid pilot projects by major Canadian service and utility companies, representing over 650 vehicles operating across the country. This market is the latest area of success for WebTech Wireless and ARI, a partnership formed this past June, and now representing over 2,000 vehicle installations to-date.

The solution sees WebTech Wireless Locators™ and on-board devices interfacing directly with Intellifleet™, ARI’s server-based fleet management system, to provide service and utility companies with a single-source solution to easily track and manage their mobile assets. This includes a number of vehicle diagnostics capabilities aimed at “greening” their fleets under WebTech Wireless’ recently announced “Telematics for the Planet” initiative.

These pilot projects utilize the latest GSM cellular network and satellite technology and provide fleet managers with the data to monitor vehicle performance, excessive idling, acceleration and braking, all of which contribute to increased CO2 emissions. It also provides full mapping, messaging and dispatching abilities so that fleet managers and drivers can proactively monitor if the fleet is operating within operational and environmental guidelines. For most fleets, this not only means lower costs and CO2 emissions, but also improved customer service through efficient scheduling, vehicle utilization and maintenance.

“The various pilot projects we have underway reaffirm the value of the WebTech Wireless and ARI partnership, and the compelling solution we can deliver to service and utility companies. They have many of the same challenges of other fleet operators, but they are under increasing public scrutiny to lead the way in adopting innovative green technologies. Our Telematics for the Planet solution is the perfect fit for these types of organizations, and we are confident that we will see many opportunities in this important segment of the Canadian market, which numbers tens-of-thousands of vehicles,” said Harald Fritz, Senior Director ASP Sales and Services, WebTech Wireless Inc.

“ARI has extensive fleet management experience with service and utility companies, and we’ve seen the increasing emphasis they’re placing on fleet performance in reaction to significantly higher operating costs and stricter governmental and environmental compliance. There is a real desire to find every possible means to meet these new targets, as multiplied over an entire fleet, even the smallest improvements can have a major impact. The requirements of these companies are ones that ARI and WebTech Wireless are uniquely positioned to address,” said Karen Mongelli, ARI’s Director of Operations.

These projects underscore WebTech Wireless’ commitment to providing solutions for a variety of industries that depend on efficient and effective mobile resource management.
