HORSHAM, PA -- 12/21/2004 -- After several months of competition marked by tough emotional struggles and a remarkable physical transformation, DeLisa Stiles, 32, a Captain in the U.S. Army Reserve, has just been promoted to the rank of The Swan and NutriSystem’s (AMEX: NSI) next spokesperson. Vying for the honor among 16 hopefuls, Stiles was crowned last night on FOX’s reality TV hit, “The Swan.” Her coronation was the culmination of a pageant featuring eight finalists seen by a national audience of more than 8 million viewers.

During her transformation, Stiles -- who served in Desert Storm and now resides in The Colony, TX -- used the NutriSystem Weight Loss Plan to shed 25 pounds. Due to her dedication and diligence, she has been selected to spread the word about the NutriSystem weight loss program.

“Throughout our transformations, all of us learned a great deal about how to turn ourselves into the special people buried deep within our hearts,” said Stiles. “And now I’ll be working to maintain my new body and improved self-image by continuing to follow the NutriSystem program.”

In total, the 16 contenders lost more than 200 pounds during their transformations and learned great tips -- both psychologically and physically -- to help keep the weight off and thrive in their new lives.

Beyond working to overcome her weight issues, Stiles faced mounting marital problems -- ultimately resulting in divorce papers that were delivered during the show. Despite this disappointing setback, she forged ahead with her plan to become a stronger, more confident and truly beautiful woman.

“DeLisa has triumphed over so much and is a heroic role model in so many ways,” said NutriSystem Nutritionist Delphine Carroll, the on-air and behind-the-scenes weight loss coach for all of the contestants. “Now this absolutely stunning woman -- inside and out -- will be able to help many other women overcome their own self-esteem and weight-loss hurdles through a plan that really works.”

The official weight loss program of “The Swan,” NutriSystem offers an easy-to-follow plan that uses an integrated approach to dieting based on lower Glycemic Index “good carbs,” optimal amounts of fat, protein and fiber, and proper portions. Each contestant received a tailored plan that was adjusted to meet her ongoing needs throughout the three-month transformations.

Beyond participating in the NutriSystem Weight Loss Plan, “The Swan” contestants tapped a variety of resources to bring about their remarkable transformations: plastic surgeons, a cosmetic and reconstructive dentist, a trainer and a therapist who provided life coaching.

“The Swan” was produced by Swan Productions, Inc., FremantleMedia North America, Inc. and GALAN Entertainment, in association with A. Smith & Company Productions. Arthur Smith and Nely Galán serve as executive producers. Kent Weed is co-executive producer. The series was created by Nely Galán.

NutriSystem offers many delicious food choices, including more than 100 nutritionally balanced, prepared foods combined with tips on how to live a healthier life. The plan also provides unparalleled service and support with a dedicated web site (www.nutrisystem.com) and an online 24/7 support team that is ready with answers to any diet questions, as well as advice and encouragement.
