Harris Corporation Named 2008 Corporate Citizenship Award Finalist by U.S. Chamber of Commerce

Company Nominated for National Corporate Stewardship Award

MELBOURNE, FL/WASHINGTON, DC — Harris Corporation (NYSE:HRS), an international communications and information technology company, has been recognized for its commitment to corporate responsibility by the U.S. Chamber of Commerce Business Civic Leadership Center. Harris is a finalist for the organization’s 2008 Corporate Citizenship Award in Corporate Stewardship category, which honors overall values, strategies and practices.

The awards recognize positive contributions to communities, advancing important economic and social goals, and demonstrating ethical leadership and sound stewardship. Other award categories include the U.S. Community Service Award, International Community Service Award, and Partnership Award. Winners will be announced at the ninth annual awards dinner on November 18 at Washington, D.C.’s historic National Building Museum.

Harris supports a wide variety of civic, educational, business, and environmental activities, and encourages employees to practice good citizenship and become involved in community programs. During 2007, Harris employees worldwide logged more than 65,000 volunteer hours, which represent some $6.5 million in volunteer labor in the community. During that same period, Harris, its employees, and its retirees raised more than $1 million for the United Way Campaign of Brevard County, Florida, home to the company’s headquarters. The company and its employees also were recently awarded the President’s Volunteer Service Award by Habitat for Humanity of Brevard County for helping to build two Habitat for Humanity homes.

Harris also teamed last year with MILCOM, the premier military communications conference, to support the USO of Metropolitan Washington (USO-Metro) to help serve military families at Walter Reed Army Medical Center and Bethesda National Naval Medical Center, and other locations. The company also teamed with the Orlando Magic in 2007 and 2008 to host two Seats for Soldiers Nights, which provided free tickets to military men and women and their families.
