Telecom New Zealand Upgrades International Network with High-Performance Juniper Networks Infrastructure
Global Service Provider Deploys Service-Enabling Network Based on M-series and ISG 2000
SUNNYVALE, Calif. -- Juniper Networks, Inc. (NASDAQ: JNPR), the leader in high-performance networking, today announced that Telecom New Zealand International (TNZI), a global service provider of Internet transit, data, voice and mobile services, has upgraded the capacity and security of its international network with Juniper Networks M-series routers and Integrated Security Gateways (ISG). By upgrading its network infrastructure throughout the U.S., U.K., Singapore, Australia and New Zealand, TNZI will be able to enhance the responsiveness and efficiency of service delivery to new consumer, business and wholesale customers across a common international network platform.
"With Juniper Networks highly scalable, high-performance multiservice routers and firewalls we have built a service-enabling network infrastructure that will reduce and simplify the changes needed to accelerate the deployment of new revenue generating services" said Charles Jarvie, Head of International Technology and Operations, TNZI.
The Juniper Networks M-series multiservice edge routing platforms are deployed by the world’s most demanding service providers, delivering advanced IP/MPLS edge routing services at scale. Constructed with clean separation between the control plane, forwarding plane and services plane, the M-series routers support multiple services without compromise on a single platform—minimizing operational and capital costs. TNZI is deploying the M120 and M320 multiservice edge routers, which rely on the single source-code based JUNOS® software in a high-performance, highly efficient hardware platform.
The Juniper Networks ISG 2000 is a purpose-built, high-performance integrated security gateway that provides unmatched firewall and IPSec VPN performance for the latest Internet applications and multimedia content. TNZI selected the ISG 2000 for its flexibility and reliability, and upgradability to include full intrusion detection and prevention (IDP) capabilities through an optional integrated security module.
"With growing demand in New Zealand and internationally for advanced network services, TNZI required a solution that could drive network monetization by cost-effectively supporting its myriad of existing services at scale—while enabling the rapid introduction of new services" said Alex Krawchuk, sales director for Australia and New Zealand service providers, Juniper Networks. "Juniper is pleased to be providing TNZI a service-enabling network infrastructure, using both our routing and security platforms that will support their growth and innovation for many years to come"
