LG to Showcase Smart Living at IFA 2008

Berlin, Germany.- LG Electronics (LG), a global leader and technology innovator in consumer electronics, will unveil its latest products at IFA 2008 in Berlin from August 29 to September 3. Under the theme of “Smart Technology and Stylish Design,” LG will exhibit an array of products, boasting state-of-the-art features and art-inspired looks.

LG’s displays at the show are divided into two booths, one for LG Digital Display and LG Digital Media Company and the other for LG Digital Appliance Company.
LG’s booth is located at Hall 11.2(Display & Media) and Hall 1.1 (Home Appliance). Highlights of LG’s participation at IFA 2008 include:

LG Digital Display Company

• LG Scarlet ( LG7000 )
LG Scarlet 7000 is a feature-packed LCD TV with Intelligent Sensor technology that automatically adjusts the screen brightness to match the ambient light in any room. According to TÜV tests, it lowers power consumption by up to 69.5 percent compared to other similarly-sized TVs, and provides viewers a natural looking picture that is easy on the eyes. LG Scarlet 7000 is equipped with innovative features including Bluetooth connectivity, which allows viewers listen to the TV over a wireless headset without interrupting others, and Invisible Speakers tuned by audio legend Mr. Mark Levinson to give viewers crisp and natural sound quality.

• LG Scarlet ( LG6100 )
At just 44.7mm, LG Scarlet 6100 is the world’s slimmest LCD TV with a built in digital tuner. Sleek, slim and sophisticated, the LG Scarlet 6100’s striking design is a work of art in itself, and is further accentuated by the TV’s Invisible Speakers, which create a fully seamless profile. A glossy finish creates a look of elegance, while a red accent along the side adds a pinch of spice. Soft volume and channel buttons are tucked out of the way, but keep control within reach. LG Scarlet 6100’s looks are matched only by its technology, which includes a 50,000:1 contrast ratio with TruMotion 100HZ refresh. These combine to create a true-to-nature viewing experience that can be further optimized with Cinema, Sport and Game AV modes.

• LG Scarlet ( LG6000)
LG6000, the LG’s flagship LCD TV for 2008 gives viewers the ability to precisely calibrate the image. Its advanced full HD TruMotion 120Hz technology eliminates motion blur, even during fast-moving action sequences. For the best sound quality, the LG6000 includes invisible speakers specially tuned by renowned audio expert, Mr. Mark Levinson, giving viewers crisp, rich sound quality. TV provides subtle illumination from its back creating a calming effect, while a cutout in the lower part of the bezel serves as a decorative focal point. It and the soft touch sensor make even simple tasks like turning the TV on or off more appealing. LG6000 also automatically adjusts brightness according to ambient light, to create an optimal viewing experience. In addition to being a technological marvel, the LG6000 sports a design intended to connect with viewers on an emotional level.

• TAKE IT TO THE EDGE ( PG7000)
This Full HD 1080p-ready PG7000 plasma series delivers a high-quality home entertainment experience in 50- and 60-inch screen sizes. It also has Super Bright Panel to realize top class contrast ratio of 1,000,000:1 and provide clarity and brightness while eliminating optical glare with minimal light reflection. PG7000 also has Bluetooth connectivity. Like all of LG’s TVs, the PG7000 includes Dual XD Engine and image processing system which optimizes picture quality for any type of content imaginable. The PG7000 series incorporates a slim, elegant single-layer design, which looks like a sheer sheet of glass and creates a sleek, sophisticated look that complements any home décor. It also has a non-reflective internal cell structure to help minimize excessive glare typically caused by harsh ambient light.

As the CES 2008 “Best of Innovations” video display honoree, LG’s HD 1080p PG6000 plasma series delivers a high-quality home entertainment experience in its 50-inch screen size. Viewers enjoy startling clarity and unprecedented detail with deeper black levels and superior shadow detail. Its also boasts a single-layer frameless design. Dual XD engine realizes optimal viewing for any kind of video content; LG’s Super Bright Panel, it also provides brighter and clearer picture quality.

• Blu-ray Player, LG BD300
The BD300 supports BD Live (BD-ROM Profile 2.0), which enables users to connect to the internet and download video images, subtitles and other data as well as enjoy related quizzes and multi-player interactive games. These networking functions add value for the customers. The BD300 features enhanced picture and sound quality, with 1080p Full HD resolution via HDMI connection. Dolby True HD and DTS-HD are onboard for high bit-rate audio. The amazing sound is bit-for-bit identical to the studio master, unlocking a truly high-definition entertainment experience from next-generation discs.

• Total Network Attached Storage Solution, N4B1
LG’s new network attached storage (NAS), N4B1 provides integrated data management and targets home and small business users, going beyond just data sharing to offer advanced data management features including a built-in Blu-ray drive and version management. Available in two- and four-bay configurations, LG’s N4B1 accepts hard drives as large as one terabyte. LG’s NAS makes it possible to share a single Blu-ray, DVD or CD among many users by creating a virtual disc library. After inserting a disc, the NAS can create and store an image of the disc which is then accessible by all of the users on the network. This not only saves time, but also reduces wear and tear on discs.

• 2.1 Ch Home Theater System, LG HT33SLG’s newest home theater system, LG HT33S, is specially tuned by audio guru Mr. Mark Levinson and delivers pure HD sound quality, all in a unique and space-saving compact design. Utilizing Virtual Sound Matrix technology, the HT33S creates three-dimensional virtual sound effects without distortion or exaggeration. In addition, thanks to LG’s technology, even with the unit’s 2.1 Ch capabilities, users can feel the same sonic power as 5.1 Ch HTS. LG HT33S also has the ability to convert existing standard-definition DVDs into HD1080p.

• Stylish DVD player, DVS450H and DVS400H
The DVS450H differs from conventional DVD players. Many models have an unchangeable flat form factor, but the DVS450H can be set up horizontally or vertically, or it can be mounted on a wall. Users can lay it flat or stand it on end, which goes well with flat panel displays. It comes with a horizontal sliding door and touch sensor button as well. The DVS400H stands out with sophisticated smooth curves inspired by traditional Asian furniture. The DVD player sports a glossy piano black finish, and the minimal stylish “gift-wrapped” look matches well with any home. Advanced features include audio CD MP3 ripping and saving files via USB, making listening to music a lot easier.

• 3G Embedded Netbook X110
The next step in technological evolution from the smartphone, the X110 is leading the next wave of new telecommunication-oriented devices, featuring trendy design and embedded 3G HSPA connectivity. 3G embedded features combined with WLAN 802.11 b/g and 10/100 Ethernet for stable and fast connections means users can communicate and share information any time, any way, any place. The X110 also differentiates itself from other competitors with advanced features such as a five-fold increase in storage capacity through its 80GB hard disk drive and its modern and chic design.

• DuoChef, MC8088HL
DuoChef is the world’s first dual-function cooking appliance that combines an oven and microwave with two fans. This microwave oven saves space in the kitchen while also improving baking capabilities. The DuoChef’s advanced defrost setting uses not just microwaves but also hot air to efficiently defrost food from the outside all the way to the center.

• Kompressor Plus
As the second generation of LG’s innovative vacuum series, Kompressor plus uses the world’s first motorized dust compression technology to compact dust and dirt into solid cubes. A one-touch sliding bin allows these cubes to be disposed of without reintroducing dust and allergens into the house. The compression system also means that the bin needs to be emptied much less often, saving time and effort.

• Built-in

The front-loading F1402FDS washing machine incorporates LG’s world-first steam technology, with the largest load capacity in its class.
