LG to Showcase Smart Living at IFA 2008

Berlin, Germany.- LG Electronics (LG), a global leader and technology innovator in consumer electronics, will unveil its latest products at IFA 2008 in Berlin from August 29 to September 3. Under the theme of “Smart Technology and Stylish Design,” LG will exhibit an array of products, boasting state-of-the-art features and art-inspired looks.

LG’s displays at the show are divided into two booths, one for LG Digital Display and LG Digital Media Company and the other for LG Digital Appliance Company.
LG’s booth is located at Hall 11.2(Display & Media) and Hall 1.1 (Home Appliance). Highlights of LG’s participation at IFA 2008 include:

LG Digital Display Company

• LG Scarlet ( LG7000 )
LG Scarlet 7000 is a feature-packed LCD TV with Intelligent Sensor technology that automatically adjusts the screen brightness to match the ambient light in any room. According to TÜV tests, it lowers power consumption by up to 69.5 percent compared to other similarly-sized TVs, and provides viewers a natural looking picture that is easy on the eyes. LG Scarlet 7000 is equipped with innovative features including Bluetooth connectivity, which allows viewers listen to the TV over a wireless headset without interrupting others, and Invisible Speakers tuned by audio legend Mr. Mark Levinson to give viewers crisp and natural sound quality.

At just 44.7mm, LG Scarlet 6100 is the world’s slimmest LCD TV with a built in digital tuner. Sleek, slim and sophisticated, the LG Scarlet 6100’s striking design is a work of art in itself, and is further accentuated by the TV’s Invisible Speakers, which create a fully seamless profile. The BD300 supports BD Live (BD-ROM Profile 2.0), which enables users to connect to the internet and download video images, subtitles and other data as well as enjoy related quizzes and multi-player interactive games. LG’s new network attached storage (NAS), N4B1 provides integrated data management and targets home and small business users, going beyond just data sharing to offer advanced data management features including a built-in Blu-ray drive and version management. Available in two- and four-bay configurations, LG’s N4B1 accepts hard drives as large as one terabyte. LG’s NAS makes it possible to share a single Blu-ray, DVD or CD among many users by creating a virtual disc library. After inserting a disc, the NAS can create and store an image of the disc which is then accessible by all of the users on the network. This not only saves time, but also reduces wear and tear on discs.

• 2.1 Ch Home Theater System, LG HT33SLG’s newest home theater system, LG HT33S, is specially tuned by audio guru Mr. Mark Levinson and delivers pure HD sound quality, all in a unique and space-saving compact design. The DVS450H differs from conventional DVD players. Many models have an unchangeable flat form factor, but the DVS450H can be set up horizontally or vertically, or it can be mounted on a wall. Users can lay it flat or stand it on end, which goes well with flat panel displays. It comes with a horizontal sliding door and touch sensor button as well. The DVS400H stands out with sophisticated smooth curves inspired by traditional Asian furniture. The DVD player sports a glossy piano black finish, and the minimal stylish “gift-wrapped” look matches well with any home.
