TietoEnator strengthens its position in Germany by acquiring the German Waldbrenner AG

29 December 2005, TietoEnator has acquired the entire share capital in the German healthcare IT provider Waldbrenner AG. The company specialises in patient administration and clinical documentation systems, and has 30 employees located in Mannheim. The acquisition will support TietoEnator’s healthcare growth strategy and goal to be one of the leading ICT solution and service providers in the European healthcare market. The acquisition is effective as of 1st January 2006. The letter of intent concerning the agreement was published on 16th November, 2005.

Waldbrenner’s offering is based on its KISSMED software portfolio for patient administration and clinical documentation. The company has 60 hospitals as customers, mainly in Germany, with several references also in Luxembourg. Net sales in 2004 amounted to EUR 3 million.
