Feature-Rich Cameras Equipped with PoE Support, 18x Optical Zoom, Day & Night Sensors; Provide Reliable, All-in-One Video Monitoring Solution
FOUNTAIN VALLEY, Calif.— D-Link, the end-to-end networking solutions provider for consumer and business, today introduced three high-end fixed network cameras designed for professional surveillance and security applications, providing powerful and versatile security solutions for businesses of any size requiring local or remote monitoring with features including Day & Night viewing, Megapixel sensors, high power zoom and Power over Ethernet (PoE) support.

Now shipping is the D-Link® Day & Night Megapixel Camera with PoE Support (DCS-3110), equipped with a 1.3 Megapixel Progressive Scan CMOS sensor and 6 mm lens for capturing a wider field of view with resolution up to 1280 x 1024. The DCS-3110 has a built-in ICR filter to provide automatic Day/Night functionality, adjusting the image from color during the day and in low light conditions to monochrome at night for poor lighting conditions.

Also now available is the D-Link Day & Night Camera with CCD sensor and PoE Support (DCS-3410) with low-light video capture features including 0.3 Lux light sensitivity for capturing video anytime, day or night. Additionally, it supports optional CS mount standard lenses such as an auto-iris lens, IR LED lens or a night vision illuminator, to record video in environments with little or no light.

Rounding out the new business class camera offerings is the D-Link Day & Night Camera with 18x Optical Zoom & PoE Support (DCS-3415), equipped with an 18x Optical Zoom lens and progressive scan CCD sensor to capture vivid images of moving objects and effectively reduce motion blur, distortion, and jagged edges of recorded images to deliver exceptional picture quality.

“Our new feature-rich D-Link DCS network camera offerings provide premiere digital surveillance solutions for small, medium and even large businesses requiring professional, state-of-the-art security monitoring,” said Chris Wong, Director of Product Management, D-Link Systems, Inc. “No matter what the lighting environment, these cameras provide outstanding picture quality and offer user-friendly features, flexible connectivity and convenient remote monitoring capabilities.”

The three new D-Link DCS series network cameras include 802.3af Power over Ethernet (PoE) to receive both power and data over a single Ethernet cable, allowing the cameras to be placed in locations without a power outlet. The surveillance cameras support simultaneous streaming of MPEG-4 and MJPEG video to provide both high quality and bandwidth efficient compression formats. MJPEG delivers greater file integrity, making it ideal for detailed monitoring situations, while MPEG-4 video has smaller file sizes, offering a useful solution for extended recording periods or for use in low bandwidth networks.

The D-Link network cameras include digital input and output ports offering flexible connectivity to external devices such as IR sensors, switches and alarm relays. They are equipped with RS-485 interfaces, providing connectivity to optional Pan/Tilt enclosures that effectively adds pan/tilt functionality. The cameras also include 12V interfaces for powering optional LED illuminators.

The new DCS cameras include support for 3GPP Mobile Surveillance, allowing the user to view a live video feed from a compatible Internet-ready mobile phone with a 3GPP player installed. This feature extends monitoring capability without requiring the use of a computer, letting the user check the camera’s video feed while on the go.

The cameras come with built-in microphones and audio ports allowing 2-way audio communication when an external speaker is connected and also include audio switches to ensure privacy when needed. They feature a built-in Samba client for network attached storage (NAS) so there is no need for a direct connection to a PC, hardware or software to capture and transfer video or images.

For convenient management, the surveillance cameras include D-Link D-ViewCam™ 2.0 software enabling the user to manage up to 32 network cameras, set e-mail alert notifications, set recording schedules, and trigger motion detection to record directly to a hard drive. To further simplify the management process, the D-ViewCam 2.0 software also lets the user upload a business floor plan and create a realistic layout of where cameras are located.

The cameras are also standards-based which allows them to be managed by third-party software applications.
