CHARLOTTE, NC—Wachovia Wealth Management has named Anne Doss managing executive of Wachovia Insurance Services (WIS). She has been with Wachovia for 23 years, serving most recently as head of bank integration for WIS, managing a team responsible for cross-selling insurance to clients across the bank.

“Anne’s breadth of experience, along with her extensive understanding of Wachovia and her successful leadership surrounding bank cross-sell, makes her an excellent choice for this position,” said Stan Kelly, head of Wachovia Wealth Management.

Under Doss’s leadership, insurance cross-sell revenue has increased more than 60 percent over the past year. Prior to joining WIS, she served in a variety of leadership roles at Wachovia in businesses such as Wealth Management, Treasury Services Electronic Cash Management and Securities brokerage. In 2001, she led the creation and implementation of the Wachovia Client Partnership, a companywide program that has generated $750 million in incremental revenue by building stronger connections among the company’s major lines of business.

Doss succeeds Stewart McDowell, who earlier this year announced his plan to retire as head of WIS. During his five years at the helm, WIS became the third largest bank-owned insurance broker and one of the top 15 insurance brokerage operations in the U.S.
