The Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) and Region 7 of the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) are inviting news media organizations to attend an August 1 event in Cedar Rapids, Iowa, illustrating the ongoing efforts of EPA to help Iowans clear away items damaged or destroyed by recent flooding.

The event, to be held at the Household Hazardous Waste and Orphan Container Pad on 41st Avenue in Cedar Rapids, will showcase collections of white goods (including refrigerators, stoves), household hazardous wastes (including cleaning products, indoor pesticides, painting supplies, automobile products, lawn and garden chemicals, propane tanks, batteries), and electronic goods (including computers, VCRs, microwaves).
