Citi Handlowy has inaugurated its Summer Internship Program, which is now entering its 13th year. During a special Orientation Day, interns were officially welcomed to the bank.

During Orientation Day, interns met with Witold Zielinski, vice president of the Management Board of Citi Handlowy, and Sonia Wedrychowicz-Horbatowska, vice president of the Management Board of Citi Handlowy and consumer banking sector head. The history of the bank and the bank’s brand were presented to the students. The interns also learned about two key sectors of Citi Handlowy – corporate and consumer banking.

“The Summer Internship Program is one of our bank’s trademarks and we are glad that its popularity continues to grow – this year we received as many as 2,500 applications,” said Maria Rodziewicz, head of recruiting at Citi Handlowy. “The interns have just returned from an integration course where they got to know the bank and its structure and made some valuable acquaintances.”

The Summer Internship Program is addressed to students who have completed their third year of studies. The program runs from July 1, 2008 to September 12, 2008. 120 students will do their internships at Citi Handlowy locations in eight cities: Warsaw, Olsztyn, Lodz, Plock, Wroclaw, Bialystok, Bydgoszcz and Cracow. In the course of the internship, while working in selected units of Citi Handlowy, they will be able to learn how the bank operates; they will get to know its structure and organizational culture. The interns are expected to develop and carry out individual projects and to present their results to a group of experienced employees at the end of their internship.
