Marvell First Annual Global Ping Pong Tournament Brings Employees Around the World Together

Twenty-nine International Marvell Sites Participate in Team-Building Tournament

Santa Clara, California (July 2008) — Marvell (NASDAQ: MRVL) a leader in storage, communications and consumer silicon solutions, hosted the first annual Marvell Global Ping Pong Tournament last week. The tournament took place simultaneously at 29 Marvell sites around the world July 7th through July 11th, serving as a worldwide team-building activity for the company’s 5,000-plus employees.

“Marvell’s international presence extends across North America, Asia, Europe, and the Middle East,” said CEO Sehat Sutardja. “By holding this week-long tournament for our employees in this Olympic year, we are building camaraderie among Marvell sites around the globe. We have enjoyed great enthusiasm among our workforce, with more than 500 employees participating.”

In addition to the hundreds of employees who participated in singles and doubles competitions, another 67 Marvell employees entered a logo design competition, with the winning design featured on tournament t-shirts distributed to all participants. This design competition allowed employees whose talents may not have included ping pong to participate in a different way. Employees from around the world signed on to vote for their favorite design. “Marvell employees work extremely hard,” said Sutardja, “but we also want them to enjoy a well rounded Marvell experience, which includes having fun and building a winning spirit.”

Tournament winners from each site received medals and small cash prizes. Based upon the success of the first tournament, the company plans to hold the event as an annual summer activity.
