Travel Gets a Little Easier with BooksOnBoard’s eBooks

BooksOnBoard’s discounted travel-related titles may make traveling a little simpler this summer, particularly for those traveling light. These titles include travel guides, language lessons, and travelogue eBooks.

“Travel guides weigh a lot – too much to carry several in a backpack or purse,” according to Bob LiVolsi, CEO of BooksOnBoard. “Using an e-paper reader like Cybook - or even a PDA phone like a Blackberry, Treo, iPAQ, and most of the Windows Moible phones – vacationers can carry hundreds of books at once – travel titles, language guides, and some fiction for fun.”

BooksOnBoard offers a wide selection of travel guides from Frommer’s, Fodor’s, and others. Some of the discounted eBooks include guides to South America, Mexico, Southeast Asia, and Eastern Europe.

“With fuel prices so high, travelers lean toward closer, less expensive vacations,” says Nathan Johnson, BooksOnBoard’s Director of Operations. “eBooks – and our audio books, too – offer lightweight, easy and inexpensive alternatives for back-packing, biking and train tours.”

LiVolsi adds, “Plus eBooks are green. No trees cut down for paper, no disposal problem for landfills. If anything, high gas prices warn us that it’s time to get a little more serious about conserving our environment.”

Discounted travelogues include A Nail Through the Heart by Timothy Hallinan, which is about traveling through Bangkok. Mediterranean Summer by David Shalleck and Erol Munuz is the recently released story of an American chef’s culinary journey through the seaside towns of France and Italy. Shannon Mckenna Schmidt and Joni Rendon retrace the footsteps of famous authors in Novel Destinations, and in The Cactus Eaters, author Dan White hikes the Pacific Crest Trail.
