Company sees early momentum for new HD and SD editing and finishing system

Tewksbury, MA – December 15, 2005 – Avid Technology, Inc. (NASDAQ: AVID) today announced that more than 45 leading postproduction facilities and rental houses – including AlphaDogs, Inc.; A&A Post; Chainsaw; Editional Effects; FotoKem; Matchframe; Phase Three; Runway, Inc.; Towers Productions; and Wexler Video – have purchased the Avid® Symphony™ Nitris® system. Avid’s newest nonlinear editing and finishing solution for HD and SD production begins shipping today – and is available through the company’s worldwide reseller channel.
