WASHINGTON, Monday, June 2008 — Brad Boston, Senior Vice President, Global Government Solutions and Corporate Security Programs at Cisco, has been elected to a three-year term to the Board of Governors of the American National Red Cross.

“I am honored to become a member of the Red Cross team,” Boston said. “The Red Cross has saved hundreds of thousands of lives since its founding 127 years ago. I look forward to contributing to the success of this esteemed organization.”

Boston joins a governance board of 23 individuals committed to the Red Cross mission to provide relief to victims of disasters and help people prevent, prepare for and respond to emergencies. He received orientation to the Board and to the Red Cross earlier this month, when the Board of Governors met at American Red Cross national headquarters in Washington, D.C.

Boston has been appointed to the Audit and Risk Management Committee, and is serving on its Quality and Regulatory Compliance Subcommittee. One responsibility of the committee is to oversee the effectiveness of American Red Cross information technology security and controls.

At Cisco Boston runs the Global Government Solutions Group (GGSG), which advises government customers on business practices and technology solutions to achieve and enhance their mission goals. Previously, Boston served as the Chief Information Officer for Cisco, responsible for the company’s worldwide use of information technology. Boston has held executive positions at American Express, Visa, United Airlines/Covia and at American National Bank and Trust Company of Chicago.

The American Red Cross is led by a Board of Governors with all of the powers of governing and directing, and of overseeing the management and affairs of the organization. Service as a member of the Board of Governors is the highest level volunteer position within the American Red Cross.
