Stephen Wessells Produced Film Wins 2008 Silver Telly Award

WEBWIRE

Las Vegas, Nevada June 28, 2008 – “Wetland Revival” a television documentary directed, produced and written by Las Vegas resident Stephen Wessells is the recipient of a 2008 first place Silver Telly Award. Of the 14,000 international programs entered in the 2008 Telly competition fewer than 7% received a first place award.

“Wetland Revival” chronicles the transformation of some 15,000 acres of San Francisco Bay from commercial salt production back into natural wetland habitat. The bay fringing wetlands had been reduced to only 20% of their pre-gold rush extent. Transition back to wetland habitat is expected to substantially increase wildlife numbers and to noticeably improve quality of life in the Bay area. The program is a sequel to the 2004 Wessells produced program “Delta Revival” telling the story of restoring the Sacramento/San Joaquin Delta of north San Francisco Bay. This program was also a recipient of a first place Silver Telly Award.
