Renee Tulenko Named VP and Publisher of Health Magazine
Renee Tulenko was named vice president and publisher of Health magazine, Southern Progress Corporation Executive Vice President and Group Publisher Scott Sheppard announced. In her new role, Tulenko will oversee all sales and marketing-related functions for the 1.3 million-circulation Health magazine. She will also work closely with the newly re-launched Health.com sales team on integrated packages for the brand.
Tulenko joined Health in 2003 as associate publisher. During her tenure she helped lead the magazine to a record year in total ad pages for 2007. That same year, Health also had its best-selling issue ever in the magazine’s 21-year history (July/August).
Prior to joining Health, Tulenko served as associate publisher for Shape magazine where she helped establish the title as a major player in its category. Tulenko began her career in media planning at BBDO. From there she moved to Altschiller & Co. as an assistant media director and then became an account manager at Country Living magazine.
Tulenko received her bachelor’s degree from the Newhouse School of Public Communications at Syracuse University. She currently resides in Holmdel, N.J., with her husband Larry, and their two children, Paige and Trey.
