Indonesia’s Excelcomindo selects Alcatel-Lucent to providecarrier Ethernet services to Jakarta business community

Paris, June 2008 – Alcatel-Lucent (Euronext Paris and NYSE:ALU) today announced that PT Excelcomindo (XL), a major cellular provider in Indonesia, has chosen Alcatel-Lucent’s end-to-end solution to provide carrier Ethernet services in Jakarta’s business district.

Alcatel-Lucent’s comprehensive solution will enable XL to offer reliable and differentiated services to its corporate customers, including IP/MPLS-based virtual leased line (VLL) and virtual private LAN (VPLS) services as well as circuit emulation services.

Under the terms of the contract, XL will deploy Alcatel-Lucent’s IP/MPLS portfolio, including its 7750 Service Router, 7450 Ethernet Service Switch and the 7250 Service Access Switch, all managed end-to-end by the 5620 Service Aware Manger. The contract also includes consultation, design project management, application/ software, installation and commissioning maintenance services.

Alcatel-Lucent IP/MPLS solutions have been selected by more than 200 service providers in more than 90 countries and the majority of Metro Ethernet services in Indonesia are also supported by Alcatel-Lucent IP/MPLS solutions. More than 80 service providers around the world have announced VPN services using the Alcatel-Lucent Service Router Portfolio including BT, Cable & Wireless, France Telecom, KPN, Telefonica, China Telecom, Telekom Malaysia, Indosat, Qwest, Embarq, Brasil Telecom and Telemar.
