Christmas TV classics come out of the vault for 24-hour marathon of television nostalgia Christmas Eve on the nation’s only Christian satellite television service

Expanding lineup of Christmas and New Year’s specials scheduled throughout December on the Sky Angel nationwide direct-to-home satellite TV service

NAPLES, FL -- 12/17/04 -– Sky Angel subscribers will be dreaming of a white Christmas right along with classic crooner Bing Crosby on the small screen when the Sky Angel nationwide direct-to-home satellite television service airs the Sky Angel Classic Christmas Marathon featuring Christmas specials, movies and holiday episodes of some of TV’s most memorable shows from the ’50’s and ’60’s all day Christmas Eve on Sky Angel’s special events network, Angel Two.

Angel Two is one of 36 Christian and family-oriented TV and radio networks delivered into homes across the Continental U.S. through the Sky Angel direct-to-home satellite television service. The Sky Angel Classic Christmas Marathon is part of an expanding lineup of Christmas and New Year’s specials airing on the various Sky Angel channels throughout December.

The Sky Angel Classic Christmas Marathon kicks off at Midnight ET on Friday, December 24, with Hollywood Palace’s Bing Crosby & Family Special, which will air again at 8 a.m., 3 p.m. and 8 p.m. ET. The full day of TV nostalgia will conclude with a special New Year’s episode of The Jack Benny Show at 11:30 p.m. ET.

“Along with the wide variety of wonderful Christmas specials airing on the various Sky Angel channels that honor Christ’s birth and reflect the real meaning for the season, we thought our viewers would also enjoy a day of nostalgia with some fun Christmas specials—TV the way it used to be when values were the norm,” said Kathleen Johnson, Sky Angel’s vice president of programming.

“Fortunately,” added Johnson, “family-friendly programs are the rule not the exception at Sky Angel, not just around Christmastime but all year long.”

Other classic shows with Christmas episodes airing during the marathon include Dragnet, Date with the Angels, Make Room for Daddy, Annie Oakley, Robin Hood and Racket Squad. Viewers will also enjoy classic holiday specials featuring Ray Bolger, Charlie Ruggles and, of course, Bing Crosby.

Expanding lineup of Christmas and New Year’s specials airing throughout the month

The Sky Angel Classic Christmas Marathon joins two other marathons of back-to-back Christmas specials airing on Sky Angel: 24-Plus Hours of Christmas on Angel One/Channel 9701 airing 7 p.m. ET on December 24 through 3 a.m. ET on December 26, and It’s a KTV Christmas!, a full day of specials just for the youngsters airing from 7 a.m. to 12 a.m. ET on December 25 on Sky Angel’s exclusive kids and teens channel, KTV/Channel 9703.
