ICSA Labs Verifies Key Security Features of TANDBERG Expressway Solution

New York, USA, and Oslo, Norway -- Dec. 12, 2005 -- Signifying momentum toward video communication without boundaries, ICSA Labs, an independent division of Cybertrust, Inc., has completed an evaluation that validates the ability of TANDBERG’s Expressway (TM) solution to provide secure firewall traversal for videoconferencing. The Expressway technology tested and verified by ICSA Labs is included in the TANDBERG Border Controller and Gatekeeper network products, as well as in its line of MXP video units.

Introduced in February, Expressway technology represented a catalyzing breakthrough for the industry, enabling video communication anywhere there is an Internet Protocol (IP) network by securely navigating corporate network firewalls. This has made face-to-face interaction more convenient and cost-effective among companies, their suppliers, customers and home-office workers.

ICSA Labs Premier Services testing methodology assessed Expressway specifically on its ability to maintain the existing security and integrity level of any network while adding H.323 videoconferencing functionality. ICSA Labs confirmed that Expressway performed to levels expected for platform security and functionality. The report found that Expressway technology “maintained the security level of the environment into which it was deployed without introducing vulnerabilities.” The report further concluded that the system’s core functionality operated properly as designed.
