Alpine Electronics Continues IndyCar Series Sponsorship with Andretti Green Racing
Supports Team Hemophilia 2008 IndyCar Series Tour
Alpine Electronics returns for the 2008 IndyCar Series as a sponsor for Andretti Green Racing (AGR). Alpine is paired for this season with driver Tony Kanaan and his car #11. This is Alpine’s second year with Kanaan and the fifth overall with AGR. Kanaan placed third in the 2007 final driver standings, and was the 2004 IndyCar Series champion. Kanaan finished second in the most recent IndyCar Series race, held on April 27 in Kansas City.
Alpine’s AGR sponsorship includes featuring the Alpine logo on the download port area of Kanaan’s #11 car. The IndyCar Series consists of 16 races and wraps up on Sept. 7 in Chicago. Tony visited Alpine’s Indianapolis office on May 12 and will make stops at the company’s Torrance, Calif., headquarters and Detroit office during the racing season.
Alpine is also supporting AGR’s charity partnership with the National Hemophilia Foundation’s Team Hemophilia. Backed by Bayer HealthCare, a fellow AGR sponsor, Team Hemophilia raises money and awareness for the bleeding and clotting disorders community. Team Hemophilia will be touring the country with members of its National Youth Leadership Institute. The youth leaders (ages 18 – 25) will cross the country and attend six IndyCar Series races in a tour bus outfitted with a complete Alpine audio/video plus navigation (A/V + N) system. The Team Hemophilia tour started on May 19 and is making its first stop at this weekend’s Indy 500, with the group participating in local media appearances, visiting hemophilia treatment centers and offering youth programs.
“Alpine partnered with Andretti Green Racing again this year because we share similar values in the work we do. We both set high standards to deliver the best quality, whether that be premium mobile electronics systems or superior drivers and race cars,” said Stephen Witt, vice president, marketing and product planning, Alpine Electronics. “As well, Andretti Green Racing introduced us to Team Hemophilia and we are proud to work with The National Hemophilia Foundation for this important road tour.”
“Alpine continues to be a great partner with Andretti Green,” said Michael Andretti, co-owner and chairman of Andretti Green. “We are fortunate to have had a long relationship with them and hope to enjoy much more success with them in the years to come.”
